The Volkswagen T-Cross has firmly established itself in the ever-growing small SUV market since it was introduced in 2018. Volkswagen didn't jump the gun by making the T-Cross too sporty and as such, impractical.
There’s no coupe-like sloping roofline, but instead a consistent shape up top that generates plenty of headroom for taller passengers in the front and back. Three seats in the back benefit from a flat-ish floor that isn’t obstructed by a tunnel, meaning those with longer legs won’t be awkwardly searching for a place to put their feet if sat in the middle.
Flexibility is what the T-Cross does well. The spaces in the back can slide backwards and forwards to prioritise legroom for those in the back or boot capacity if you’ve got smaller people on board. Even when the seats are fully back, there’s a generous 385 litres for you to work with. On the contrary, pushed fully forward there’s 455 litres, which is bigger than the larger VW T-Roc. Look to the mid-range SE trim if you want to separate the boot into multiple compartments, with an adjustable floor thrown in.
