A rear-wheel drive drive chain is standard on all Ghibli trim levels and complements the vehicle’s low centre of gravity. Despite these dimensions, getting in and out of the car isn’t as difficult as its competitors, which have the typically more aggressive low ride height. What’s more is that five doors mean passengers in the back can get easy access, with plenty of legroom on offer too.

Maserati’s Touch Control Plus unit is the hub of the dashboard, with an 8.4” screen coming with minimalist design with few buttons and a voice command function which is ideal when you’re on the move. The Ghibli S trim is at the top of the pack for the Italian manufacturer, with blistering acceleration of 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds, while receiving the most power (430bhp) from the V6 engine. However, even choosing one of the higher-grade Gransport specification in the stock Ghibli model will see you get larger alloys, sport seats, red painted brake callipers and active shift paddles.
