What does in stock mean?
We have all found something great while online shopping, only to try and buy it and find out it’s not in stock. Well the same thing works for car leases. In stock cars are already built and will be held at one of the many manufacturer-approved dealerships. So when you come to order, there are no nasty surprises or delays in the delivery of your car.
As these vehicles have already been assembled, there is rarely an option to add certain trim levels for additional features. However, as all in stock cars will be new, they tend to come equipped with the latest modern features anyway. So if you are in the market for a new car and need it quickly, our in stock leasing page is a great place to start.
How long do in stock orders take?
You can expect to be driving around in your brand new car in 2-4 weeks from the point of order, when your finance application has been approved.
One small caveat to in stock deals is the first come first serve basis. A dealership will only have a limit to how many units of a particular model they hold in stock. But dealer stock does update regularly, so it’s good practice keeping an eye on what deals are available when you’re looking for a new set of wheels.
Looking to lease a car and get on the road as soon as possible? Save time and search using Moneyshake’s in stock leasing offers.
Am I limited to certain cars with in stock leasing?
You would think that choice is limited when it comes to leasing an in stock car, and to some extent that is true. The already built cars are not available to be upgraded so unless the higher spec trim is also in stock, you might have to wait a little bit longer for those heated seats. But at Moneyshake you can compare prices on most major manufacturers and models, including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan. So whether you’re looking for a reliable run-around like a Volkswagen Polo*, or you see yourself driving round in a head-turning Tesla Model 3*, the perfect car for you can be found on Moneyshake’s in stock page.
Even if you’re not sure what car you want, our filters help you streamline your search based on a variety of factors. These include:
- Fuel type
- Personal or business use
Are in stock cars cheaper?
Is there a cost benefit to choosing an in stock lease deal? Well more often than not yes. There are a few reasons why you will likely find a better deal on in stock cars.
The first is that a lot of models are bought in ‘bulk’ by dealerships and therefore at a reduced price, allowing the dealers themselves to offer them out to customers at lower prices while maintaining a profit.
Adding different trim levels and upgraded features is not an option on in stock cars, meaning that the premium cost that usually comes with factory orders isn’t required. Because of the fixed-spec that comes with the in stock model, discounts are often provided accordingly.
Some in stock cars include ex-demonstrator vehicles that have been used for demonstration purposes such as test drives. As it won’t be strictly brand-new, a lot of these cars come with sizeable discounts. On top of that, ex-demo cars often come with the latest upgrades and features that were included to impress those that test drove it, so it is likely you can get a high-spec model for a reduced price.
In stock vs factory order?
The alternative to in stock deals, is a factory order. These are cars that aren’t in stock at any dealership, usually because of different features or trim levels that you want to be upgraded and are therefore made to order. We have put together the following useful table to help you decide which is the right option for you.
