When the MG4 launched last Autumn, it caused a big stir in the EV market. It’s exceptional range and sporty styling, coupled with low pricing made it a genuine game changer. It’s no surprise that many have flocked to own it. Well MG are about to change the EV landscape yet again.

The new MG4 EV XPOWER features a dual EV motor which delivers 435PS and achieves 0-62mph in a rapid 3.8 seconds. Those numbers will rival many petrol-driven high performance sports cars. However, the MG4 EV XPOWER delivers this in a hatchback for just £36,495.

The most notable of which are the orange brake callipers, two-tone black roof and 18″ alloy wheels. We also love the new racing green colour option – a nod to MG’s British racing heritage.

The Re-Emergence of MG

Since production restarted under the brand in China in 2007, MG has started to emerge as one of the leaders in the EV car market. Boosted by the launch of the MG4 in Autumn 2022, at Moneyshake we’ve seen enquiries for leasing MG cars increased 55% going into the first quarter of 2023.

British Racing Pedigree

MG Motor UK has also revealed a third high performance MG will debut during Goodwood Festival of Speed, confirming a new concept car will be shown in the First Glance paddock at the event from Thursday 13th July.

The MG EX4 boldly reimagines the Metro 6R4 rally legend of the 1980s, underpinned by the MG4 XPOWER’s electric drivetrain. Designed by MG’s team in London, who played a key role in creating the new MG Cyberster, the EX4 will feature a distinctive livery designed especially for Goodwood and celebrates the 40^th anniversary of the Metro 6R4.
