Our Top 5 Trending Car Lease Deals In 2022 So Far< Back to blog
2022 is a great year to lease a car, with loads of new models and updates to existing models set to spice up the market.
And if you need to know more about car leasing before you get started, check out our guide to leasing a car in 2022.
If you need help deciding on your new car, look no further! We’ve put together a list of the top 5 trending car lease deals our customers are going nuts about so far this year.
1. Volkswagen T-Cross
The Volkswagen T-Cross is the smallest SUV in the brand’s impressive range, but it’s bang on-trend with what UK drivers are looking for in a car these days.
Compact SUVs such as this have the perks of being easy to live with, as well as having practicality going for them. Where the T-Cross beats rivals such as the Seat Arona and Nissan Juke is that it’s extremely comfortable and easy to drive.
There’s also a good amount of onboard tech as standard in the T-Cross, regardless of which trim level you choose. For example, the entry-level SE spec comes with 17in alloy wheels, black roof rails and an fully-fledged 8in touchscreen infotainment screen which can mirror your phone’s screen through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
If you’re going to choose any engine out of the petrol options, we’d recommend either the 110bhp or 150bhp turbocharged units. The former is available on all specs and is pretty peppy when you select it with the manual gearbox. As for the range-topping 150bhp engine, this is only available with an automatic gearbox which is smooth and powerful (0-60mph takes just 8.5 seconds).
Our customers have shown great interest in the popular Active trim, which we have available to lease from just £203 per month*.
2. Fiat 500
As far as city cars go, the Fiat 500 has continued to improve year-on-year and is now one of the best.
Fiat hasn’t ditched the nostalgic design of its smallest car, while at the same time there’s been plenty of updates to keep it fresh. This 10th-generation 500 comes with all the bells and whistles from the off, including stop-start technology, body colour bumpers and a 5in centre touchscreen. Unfortunately it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity on entry-level models, but there’s still a USB port which allows you to play your phone’s music through the speakers.
We recommend going for the all-singing, all-dancing Dolcevita spec to get the best value for money. With funky bodywork and wheel design, plus techno fabric seats and a wood effect dashboard, your eyes won’t know where to look! Throw in a panoramic glass sunroof, plus a fully-fledged 7in infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and you’ve got yourself a great little runner.
The Dolcevita trim is the most popular spec to lease so far in 2022, and it’s available from just £160 per month*!
3. Nissan Juke
It’s hard to believe that there’s only been two generations of the Nissan Juke. This is probably to do with the fact that the first generation (2010) was around for so long – nearly a decade to be exact.
But many people were quick to forget that first generation, because it was a bit…marmite. Its prominent wheel arches and high ‘waistline’ on the body emphasised the squashed details of the front. Some people loved it, but others hated it. Still, loads were sold as people loved the combination of a high ride and small body.
Fast-forward to 2019 and Nissan performed a pretty important makeover to the Juke’s face. Namely, there’s more of a modern feel that’s distinguished by the grill and headlights being integrated. On top of this, the Juke has been changed so that it’s based on a new platform which means it’s more agile to drive.
The icing on the cake is a modern engine range too. Nissan decided to ditch the diesel Juke, with this new range getting a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which feels peppy and doesn’t cost a great deal to run either.
We have lease deals available for the well-equipped Acenta model from just £145 per month*, which our customers can’t get enough of.
4. BMW 1 Series
Out of the premium rivals, including the Mercedes A-Class, the 1 Series has the upper-hand when it comes to head and leg room. There’s also more room in the boot – 380 litres versus 310 litres which makes it ideal if you’re regularly carrying items in the back.
You won’t need to worry about there not being enough tech onboard your BMW 1 Series either. Even the entry-level BMW 1 Series SE spec comes with a solid amount of kit, including 16in alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, selectable driving modes and the brand’s top live cockpit professional package.
Considered the best-looking sec in the 1 Series line-up, we’ve seen lots of enquiries come through for the popular M Sport spec, which is available from just £291 per month*.
5. Ford Fiesta
The current range is still a fantastic option if you want a youthful, sporty hatch that’s incredibly fun to drive and spacious.
We’d avoid the 1.1-litre petrol engine which isn’t turbocharged and only has 75bhp. The EcoBoost option is much better, with a healthy 100bhp or 125bhp option available.
Entry-level Trend versions of the Fiesta will be enough for most too as far as standard equipment is concerned. Choose this spec and you’ll get 16in alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, rear privacy glass and even a specific NCAP safety pack which adds functions such as lane-keeping alert and lane-keeping aid for improved safety.
Our most popular Fiesta available to lease is the ST-Line (pictured above). With a sportier body kit and handling, you’ll get the best out of the car’s driving abilities with this spec.
With sportiness and luxury going for it, we’ve seen a surge in interest from our customers for the ST-Line Vignale version of the Ford Fiesta. This is currently available to lease through Moneyshake from just £159 per month*.
