What we think

As far as electric cars go, the Kia E-Niro is a bit of a champion in this field.

For starters, it’s a multi-award-winning car that has excellent range at a price that undercuts more premium rivals.

Our customers have recognised this too. The particular E-Niro which has been leased the most through our website is the ‘Long Range’ 64kWh battery version, with a real world range of around 230 miles.

There is a smaller battery alternative that comes with a 39kWh unit – this is good for around 140 miles real range between charges. However, our current special offer on this superior E-Niro spec is the best in the entire range, available from just £246 per month*.

What we think

Still the UK’s favourite SUV – the third-generation Nissan Qashqai has gotten larger and received some slick modern styling.

Space in the back has improved and the boot is now 50 litres bigger because of the increased size. This makes it even more suitable for families eyeing up a modern SUV that can perform as an all-rounder.

The Nissan Qashqai lease deal that’s getting a lot of traction from our customers is the hot offer for the well-equipped Acenta Premium spec.

Available from just £193 per month*, it comes with a 1.3-litre mild hybrid petrol engine which receives a boost of power from a small battery and electric motor. Together, they produce 158bhp – the most power of any engine in the Qashqai line-up.

What we think

There aren’t many opportunities to jump behind the wheel of a BMW model for less than £250 per month. But our amazing lease deal for the much-loved BMW 1 Series M Sport is available from just £240 per month*!

It’s easy to see why the M Sport spec is one of the best across the 1 Series range. Besides the range-topping 128ti and M135i models, the M Sport has one of the sportiest designs out of the bunch.

A 1.5-litre petrol engine with 136bhp feels pretty peppy and won’t cost you an arm and a leg to run. Coupled with the lower M sport suspension and some clever driver-centric tech, it’s much better to drive than previous versions. There’s very little body lean as you go into corners and the steering is very precise.

Although we’ve focused heavily on the driver benefits of this BMW 1 Series, it’s also worth pointing out how flexible it is. At the end of the day, it’s fairly roomy in the back, so you can easily use it to carry people regularly.

  • Fuel economy: 51.4 MPG (combined)
  • Boot space: 456 litres
  • CO2 emissions: 125g/km

Key features

  • 18in alloy wheels
  • B&O premium sound system
  • ST-Line bodykit with rear privacy glass
  • Wireless phone charging pad
  • Sports suspension

What we think

The Ford Puma is a bit like Oleksander Usyk. Now, this is probably not a comparison you’d make straight away. For starters, the Puma is American; Usyk is Ukranian. The Ford Puma also happens to be a car; Usyk is a heavyweight boxer. So where are we going with this?

Well, allow us to explain. From the period of 1997-2002, the Ford Puma was a small coupe – a very good one, too – but now it’s an award-winning SUV.

Compare that to the career journey of Oleksander Usyk, who rose up the ranks to become WBO cruiserweight champion. He then vacated his cruiserweight titles to move up to heavyweight, where he beat Anthony Joshua to become the unified heavyweight champion.

Both stepped up in size and won accolades in the process – mightily impressive.

Now back to matters at hand. The particular Ford Puma in question is the sporty ST-Line X spec, which has the punchiest version of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost mild hybrid engine (155bhp). It’s currently available to lease on our site from just £199 per month*.

Even since it became a small SUV, the Puma isn’t skimpy when it comes to passenger space. In fact, you’ll be able to carry three tall passengers fairly comfortably, even on longer journeys.

5. Hyundai Ioniq Electric – from £186 per month

Our most popular lease cars - new Hyundai Ioniq Electric

Vehicle stats

  • Real range: 155 miles
  • Home charge time (0%-100% charge using 7.4kW charger): 6 hours, 15 minutes
  • Public charge time (10%-80% charge using 175kW charger): 47 minutes
  • Acceleration (0-62mph): 9.9 seconds
  • Boot space: 357 litres

Key features

  • 16in alloy wheels
  • Smartphone wireless charging mat
  • 10.25in touchscreen infotainment system with sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Parking system with rear camera and rear parking sensors
  • Adaptive cruise control with stop and go

What we think

Our customers can’t seem to get enough of the Hyundai Ioniq Electric, which was recently named the most popular electric car on our site.

What’s great about the Ioniq EV is that the range is super simple to choose from. There are two specs, both of which are packed full of modern style and tech. Then the ‘engine’ range is just as easy to get your head around, with only one battery and motor combination – a 38kWh unit which powers a single 136bhp electric motor.

As you can see from the above stats, it’s not mind-blowing range. Nevertheless, you should bear in mind that the average driver travels no more than 100 miles per week, so for most people it will be plenty good enough. This is especially true if you can access home and/or work charging to make use of slow, affordable battery top-ups.

The version of the Hyundai Ioniq Electric our customers have shown great interest in is the Premium spec – available on a hot offer from just £186 per month*. Needless to say, it’s silent and very affordable to run. Another plus is that it’s a fairly big car, so carrying people in the back is pretty easy. Also, the boot is bigger than some of its chief rivals.
